The best thing about living on an Air Force Base is the security it provides. People entering the base must have a military ID or else they don't get on. People in the military have a much lower rate of crime and heinous acts like rape, child molesters, etc. I'm not saying they don't exist in the military; however, compared to the civilian population it's much lower. Unless you live in a gated community, you might not have this security for your home and children.

If you have the money, I would suggest putting up your own gate around your house. You can get automated gate openers from a wholesale gate operator seller and save money. Some gates are normal looking and some look like barriers. You get a barrier gate operator just like a normal gate. Gates/barriers can't totally eliminate crime and can't totally protect your family; however, criminals are less likely to go after a home behind a gate or barrier. It's the path of least resistance theory.

So go get yourself a gate, a gate opener, and share the same protection as me.

Another Big Google Month!

I've recently read that Paid-Per-Click advertising has gone down. Google's stock was beaten up pretty badly. A couple of weeks later, they released another stellar quarter and the stock is on the move again.

Not coincidentally, I've had another great Google Adsense month. Keep in perspective the size of my blogs...very small. I made $40 in April. My average is $20 - $30, with $30 being a great month but $20 being closer to the norm. But I made $40.08 this month and I'm very excited.

Multi-Level Marketing Businesses

Ever seen an internet ad that says, "Make $1,000 to $3,000 every day!" You just send in $1,000 and then BAM, the checks just start rolling in. Do you want to know if it's true? I can't say it's not. It is kind of true; however, your earnings aren't guaranteed, but here's how they work. It starts at the top. The top person creates this business my making a single webpage and then tells people that they can earn $1,000 to $3,000 a day. You only have to invest $1,000. That $1,000 goes straight to the top person and you get to start referring people to this site. Once you start referring people yourself to this site, you start making the money that people pay to start referring people.

But notice, nothing has been sold or created. There is no service being performed here. The service is the dream of making money and that other people will want to make money. So the money just keeps on going upwards and your goal is to be in the chain somewhere.

Most of these site don't really work and usually you are left with bugging your family members. But if one is working for you or you are thinking about trying one, let me know.

Google Adsense Status

I started blogging in August of 2006. I read about the origianl Personal Finance blog and how the author made $100k in one year. I googled the phrase "how to blog" and it came up with the infamous Problogger site and the first article I read was the $15k in one month. I couldn't believe that someone blogging could make that much money.

I started my blog and I tried to create a niche. I haven't devoted all my time into my blog like I've should have; however, it's been a good thing to spend some time on every now and then. The only real money I've made was selling two ad space's and then Google Adsense.

I've received two $100 paychecks since then and I'm making a consistent $20 a month. I wish I could increase it and maybe I will be rejuvanted in my blogging attempts. Anyways, if you aren't using Google Adsense, you should start.
